Projects
The positive feedback that we regularly receive from customers, New Connections, Teams and the Faults Teams within the Distribution Businesses' demonstrates the great success of these projects to date.
Below are some examples of the positive customer responses that TechSafe have recently received:
Energy Safe Victoria 1998 – Current
In 1998 TechSafe worked closely with the Regulator to help establish the Electrical Certification system which forms the basis of the current safety certification and compliance process for electrical installation work in Victoria. Since the implementation of the certification system, TechSafe has performed audit and electrical inspection services on behalf of Energy Safe Victoria for these and associated services.
The service includes the auditing of electrical work carried out by Licensed Electrical Workers at a customer’s premise along with specialist auditing of specific work types such as medical, solar, high voltage and hazardous area installations.
As a part of this contract, TechSafe liaise with Electrical Contractors directly when defects are identified, ensuring rectification work is understood and undertaken.
Solar Victoria (DELWP) 2018 – Current
In 2018 TechSafe assisted Solar Victoria in the establishment of the highly regarded inspection regime associated with the Solar Homes Program.
As a key part of the Solar Homes program, TechSafe provide all audit services for solar PV, battery storage, solar hot water and heating and cooling installations. This includes onsite audits, back-office reporting, and the management of technical enquiries with members of industry. It is common for our personnel to assist installers and retailers interpreting Standards, advising on best practice to maintain compliance with all regulations and manufacturer requirements.
The success of this audit program has been demonstrated by the reduction in unsafe findings and installations requiring remediation work. This is due to the ongoing communication available to all Installers and Licensed Electrical Inspector’s (LEI’s) when issues have been found. TechSafe provides clarity and clear directions in relation to all improvements required, which has resulted in improved installation quality, not only within the solar homes program, but across the solar industry.

Queensland Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy 2018 - 2021
TechSafe completed electrical inspection services for the State of Queensland acting through the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy for ‘Interest Free Loans for Solar and Storage scheme’. This was the first inspection program of its type in the country for Battery Storage systems.

Prior to commencing audits in the field, TechSafe presented the end-to-end inspection process and common defects via a workshop/ training session with all installation providers.
During this project TechSafe manage the entire end to end inspection regime, having developed and implemented the risk based methodology by which properties are selected for inspection we then managed the inspection process until the rectification works required have been reviewed and signed off as complete. We also provided a live support function that provides technical support to the installers on this program to ensure we continue to educate them and improve the overall quality of solar installations in Qld.
